Sharda World School celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm, pride, and patriotic spirit. The celebration brought the school community together to honour the nation’s journey while encouraging students to reflect on the values of unity, responsibility, discipline, and good citizenship.

The occasion was not only a celebration of India’s independence but also an opportunity to inspire young learners to understand their role in contributing towards the nation’s future.

A Proud Beginning with the Tricolour

The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the National Anthem. As the Tricolour was unfurled, the campus resonated with a profound sense of pride, unity, and respect for the nation.

The ceremony provided a meaningful beginning to the day and reminded students of the significance of Independence Day and the responsibility that accompanies the freedom enjoyed by every citizen.

Celebrating India Through Music and Dance

Following the flag hoisting, students presented a vibrant cultural programme that beautifully showcased their talent and patriotic spirit.

Soulful musical performances filled the atmosphere with emotion and national pride, while energetic dance presentations added colour and enthusiasm to the celebration. Through music and movement, students expressed their love for the country and contributed to the festive spirit of the occasion.

The performances also provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, confidence, and appreciation for the nation.

Inspiring Young Citizens

Addressing the gathering, Head of School, Mr. Satyaki Banerjee, encouraged students to grow into responsible and conscientious citizens. He emphasised the importance of values, discipline, responsibility, and making positive contributions to society.

His message encouraged students to recognise that citizenship extends beyond celebrating national occasions—it is reflected in everyday actions, choices, and the willingness to contribute towards the well-being of others.

Vice Principal, Ms. Neeta Rani, also addressed the students and highlighted the significance of Independence Day. She encouraged learners to uphold the values of unity, patriotism, and responsibility and incorporate them into their daily lives.

Learning Through an Inter-House Quiz Competition

Adding an engaging and competitive dimension to the celebration, the school organised an exciting Inter-House Quiz Competition.

Students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their knowledge, teamwork, presence of mind, and competitive spirit. The quiz transformed the celebration into an interactive learning experience while encouraging healthy competition among the Houses.

Such activities help students build confidence and collaboration while making important occasions more engaging and meaningful.

Nurturing Responsible Citizens of Tomorrow

The 80th Independence Day Celebration at Sharda World School concluded on a proud and celebratory note, leaving students and staff with a renewed sense of patriotism and responsibility towards the nation.

Beyond the flag hoisting and cultural performances, the occasion reinforced an important message for young learners: the future of the nation rests in the hands of citizens who demonstrate integrity, responsibility, compassion, and respect for others.

Through meaningful celebrations such as Independence Day, Sharda World School continues to nurture confident, responsible, and patriotic young citizens who understand their role in contributing positively to society and the nation.
