Sharda World School hosted an engaging ‘Meet the Author’ session on 18th August 2026, creating an exciting literary experience for young readers. The session was organised in collaboration with Mrs. Shivika Tomar, an edupreneur, certified teacher trainer, and acclaimed children’s author, and was specially curated for Cambridge and CBSE students up to Grade 4.

Filled with stories, laughter, curiosity, and imagination, the session introduced students to the wonderful world of storytelling while encouraging them to discover the joy that books and reading can bring.

Discovering the Magic of Storytelling
Mrs. Shivika Tomar warmly interacted with the young learners and brought stories to life through an engaging and child-friendly approach. The session created an environment where students could listen, imagine, respond, and become active participants in the storytelling experience.

She highlighted how books can become powerful companions in a child's learning journey, opening doors to new ideas, characters, emotions, and experiences.

Beyond developing language and communication skills, reading can help children nurture creativity, empathy, imagination, and emotional intelligence—qualities that contribute significantly to their overall development.

Encouraging Young Learners to Become Readers
A key focus of the session was encouraging students to develop a stronger and more consistent reading habit.

Through her interaction with the students, Mrs. Tomar encouraged them to explore stories with curiosity and discover the pleasure of reading beyond the classroom. The session helped students see books not simply as part of their academic learning but as a source of enjoyment, discovery, and inspiration.

The interactive nature of the programme gave young learners the confidence to engage, share their thoughts, and express their imagination freely.

Reading, Imagining and Expressing
Stories allow children to experience different perspectives, explore emotions, and develop their own ideas. The Meet the Author session at Sharda World School reinforced this connection between reading and creative expression.

As students engaged with the author, they were encouraged to read, imagine, think, and express themselves with greater confidence. Such literary interactions can make reading more personal and meaningful by giving children an opportunity to connect directly with the people who create the stories they enjoy.

Creating Meaningful Literary Experiences
The event was graced by Dr. Garima Yadav, Director, ELC, Sharda World School; Ms. Neeta Rani, Vice Principal; and Ms. Shefali, Coordinator.

Their presence reflected the school's emphasis on creating enriching learning opportunities that extend beyond conventional classroom experiences.

The session concluded on an inspiring note, leaving the young learners with greater enthusiasm for books, stories, and creative expression. It reaffirmed Sharda World School's commitment to providing meaningful literary experiences that nurture thoughtful, confident, creative, and imaginative learners.

Through initiatives such as the Meet the Author session, Sharda World School continues to celebrate stories, creativity, imagination, and the joy of reading, encouraging students to build a lifelong relationship with books.
