On 31st August 2024, the students of Sharda World School embarked on an educational excursion to Stonemen India Pvt. Ltd., a renowned facility specialising in stone processing and marble production. This visit provided the students with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate processes involved in transforming raw stone into finely finished decorative items.

The excursion began with a tour of the Production Department, where students observed the meticulous work involved in shaping stones manually using a hand grinder. They were introduced to the concept of producing stone items based on a sample, which provided them with insight into the level of precision and craftsmanship required in this industry.

Next, the students visited the CNC Department (Computer Numerical Control), where they were amazed by the advanced technology used for shaping stones of different sizes. Through computer programming, stones were shaped with unmatched accuracy, demonstrating the significant role of automation in modern manufacturing processes.

Following this, the group moved to the Chemical and Lacquering Department. Here, they witnessed the various stages of painting and drying the stone pieces. The students were particularly interested in the lacquering process, which enhances the appearance and durability of the final product.

The tour continued to the Inspection Area, where every finished piece was meticulously inspected for quality. This highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards in production, ensuring that only the best products reach the market.

Finally, the students observed the Packing Department, where the finished marble pieces and decorative items were carefully packed, ready for distribution.

The educational excursion concluded with the students gaining valuable knowledge about the stone processing industry, from raw material to finished product. To reflect their understanding, students also completed a questionnaire at school, further solidifying the knowledge they had acquired.

As a gesture of hospitality, the staff at Stonemen India Pvt. Ltd. provided refreshment boxes to all students and accompanying staff members.

The excursion was a highly educational experience, leaving the students with a deeper understanding of the industry and an appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in marble production.
