Sharda World School recently commemorated Nelson Mandela Day with a vibrant and inspiring program. The event was graced by the presence of Principal Dr. Shiv Kumar Tiwari, Cambridge Principal Ms. Aarti Khurana, and Vice Principal Ms. Neena Rathore.
The celebration began with an informative introduction about Nelson Mandela, highlighting his life and legacy. This was followed by a heartwarming rendition of the song "Asimbonanga" performed by the school choir, setting a reflective and respectful tone for the day.
A special musical interlude featured Inaaya of Grade 3 and Kabir of Grade 6 playing the Casio as they accompanied a solo performance of "Saare Jahan Se Achha." The harmonious blend of vocals and instrumental music captivated the audience.Next, Ameya of Stage 2 delivered an insightful English speech, sharing valuable lessons from Nelson Mandela's life. This speech emphasised Mandela's enduring impact and the importance of his principles in today's world.
The musical journey continued with Tejasav Agarwal of Grade 7 showcasing his talent on the guitar, followed by a solo singing performance by Adishree Gupta of Grade 7 on the song "You're My Strength," which was both powerful and emotive.
The school band then took the stage to perform the song "Ek Tara," featuring Eshawee of Grade 5 on drums and Aveuday of Grade 9 on the octapad. Their dynamic performance energised the audience and highlighted the students' musical prowess.
The event concluded with an inspiring speech by Cambridge Principal Ms. Aarti Khurana, who emphasised the importance of embracing Mandela's values of peace, equality, and justice.
